Why is it important to stretch before you begin your golf game? Stretching warms up your muscles and prevents injuries. You should always conduct warmup exercises.

-It ensures your golf round gets started on a positive note by reducing your tension.

-It also reduces your chance of injury. Regardless of age, it is especially important for ALL golfers to perform these exercises. Younger golfers will get older and gradually lose suppleness.

-It also helps prevent muscle deterioration from occurring.

One of the most detrimental things a golfer can do is engage in strenuous activity without first preparing the muscles.

Here are some great exercises to help warm up the muscles and prepare golfers to unlocking their ultimate golf game:

    • Left arm only swinging of the club
    • Extended arm club raising
    • Club behind the back trunk twisting
    • Club above the head trunk twisting
    • Club in front of the body truck twisting
    • Arm circles
    • Arms above the head
    • Leg raises
    • Knee raises
    • Neck circles
    • Side neck stretches
    • Lateral bending
    • Calf Stretches
    • Flex leg back stretches

Spend up to thirty minutes completing these warmup stretches followed by chipping, putting and shots on the driving range; contributing to 1 hour of warmup before your round!
